Claudine Gueh, Writer & Illustrator of Children's Books & More

Children’s Story Editing

Your story is meaningful and potentially powerful.

And I hope to help you bring it to the next level.

I’m a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature and an author of two books. One of my stories has been published by Cricket Magazine (Oct 2016). Check them out here.

Getting published with Cricket was a huge deal for me. Took me 9 years and I’m thrilled my story about a girl vanquishing a hungry Chinese zombie is in this issue.

Have you got a draft ready but don’t know for sure if the story is solid?

From experience, some clients have a longer-than-necessary beginning, some worry about a sagging middle, and some have a brilliant beginning and middle only to avoid playing out the climax onstage. (It’s a great pity and I won’t let this happen to you!)

Here’s how I can help you:

– I’ll ensure you have a strong, relevant storyline to engage your readers throughout.

– I’ll check on your characters and help you strengthen them (both heroes and villains).

– I’ll make suggestions on your writing to make it clearer, more vivid, and smoother, all without cramping your style.

– I’ll make sure your manuscript is clean of errors (grammar, spelling, punctuation etc.) through careful proofreading.

To date, I’ve helped clients with ghostwriting, writing, and editing 30 children’s stories. Here are some of their testimonials:

I can’t promise your story will become the next bestseller (and if anyone does, you need to be careful), but I promise, I promise to take the time to listen and understand your vision for your book and support you as far as possible.

An interesting add-on to my service for picture book writers:

If you are looking to self-publish and are anxious about coordinating with an illustrator, I can help you with that.

I have coordinated with illustrators for my own picture E-book, My Clearest Me, as well as ABC activity books (publications I set out another lifetime ago), so I know which areas to discuss with the illustrators and layout designers up front and which to consistently check on.

More importantly, I love the art-side of the storytelling and will be able to oversee the illustration stage for or with you effectively.

Please tell me more about your story and what your specific needs are in the form below. I’m open to communications so feel free to reach out anytime!
